    HCI 2010 Aero Conference in Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA

    The CATS Consortium presented an overview of the validation of Contract-of-Objectives concept and in particular the results of the second Human-in-the-Loop (HIL) evaluation of the concept of operations applying this CoO between Air Traffic Controllers (ATCos) and Pilots. This the crew-ground integration experiment with Contract-of-Objectives was carried out in October 2009 at skyguide premises in Geneva, Switzerland.

    Close-Down Meeting

    The CATS Close-Down Meeting was held at Air France premises in Roissy, France. Representatives from the consortium members participated in this meeting, aiming to discuss the project closure and the next steps to be taken for achieving the project goals.

    CATS Final User Forum in Paris (Musée de l’Air - Le Bourget)

    The CATS Consortium presented the final results and the main achievements made during the CATS Project, which started in November 2007 and ended in November 2010. The main goal of the CATS Project was to develop and assess a new concept targeting to achieve punctuality at destination, by assessing a possible practical implementation of the Business Trajectory, namely the Contract of Objectives (CoO).

    2nd CATS Workshop in Geneva hosted by SkySoft-ATM

    The CATS Consortium showed the progress made towards the goal of achieving punctuality at destination, by assessing a possible practical implementation of the Business Trajectory, namely the Contract of Objectives (CoO), on a joint simulation platform developed by SkySoft-ATM. The platform comprises four controller positions and two flight simulator positions.

    28th Digital Avionics System Conference (DASC) in Orlando, Florida, USA

    The CATS Consortium presented an overview of the validation of Contract-of-Objectives concept and in particular the results of the first Human-in-the-Loop (HIL) evaluation of the concept of operations applying this CoO between Air Traffic Controllers (ATCos). This HIL real time evaluation was carried out in October 2008 at skyguide premises in Geneva, Switzerland.

    Seventh Innovative Research Workshop in Bretigny

    The CATS Consortium organised a parallel session, starting with an overview of Single European Sky 2 initiatives, followed by a SESAR presentation with the main focus on the Business Trajectory (BT).

    Furthermore, the CATS team presented their research project and the results of the first HIL experiment, followed by a discussion based on the question: "Could Contract of Objectives proposal be seen as a possible driver for implementation of the BT?".

    Second ATM R&D Projects Coordination and Networking Meeting in Brussels

    The aim of this meeting was to show the EC how the CATS project ensures that the research goals and the expected results are in line with SESAR targets.

    Kick-Off Meeting

    The CATS Kick-off Meeting was held at Frequentis premises in Vienna, Austria. Representatives from all nine consortium members and from the European Commission participated in this meeting, aiming to agree on the way forward and to outline the content of the various work packages defined for the CATS project.
